I was gathering guano at a bird sanctuary to use as garden mulch when the caretaker approached and asked what I had in the bag. I said “Sanctuary mulch” and he said “You’re velcome”. [rimshot!!]

Confession: I stole that from a Bil Keane cartoon I read about 60 years ago. Then he started “Family Circus” and stopped being funny.

Also if you have read the book or seen the movie, the Church provided and still provides Sanctuary for individuals persecuted by the state, which it did for Quasimodo.

I get the connection; but when I look at the bird, what comes to mind is “Icecreamconeamodeoh”…

I hadn’t read the book, but I saw the Disney movie, so I had a hunch.

i get the reference to poor quasimodo, but the bird looks more like a vulture to me, more like he’s lying in wait for all those other birds to become lunch
