When I got stationed in Bethesda, MD, the first thing I did on a free weekend, was visit the D.C. mall and climb up and down the steps in the Washington Monument. Climbing down felt more difficult than climbing up. There were a lot of interesting carved stones with names of groups who donated materials to building the monument. When my brother came for a visit, he did the same thing,
