Calvin needs to enjoy living in the moment, because he’ll be in a lot of trouble in another moment. In the U.S., the expression “just one second” is in the process of replacing the expression “just a moment.” Perhaps someday we will be talking about “living in the second” rather than “living in the moment.”At least when Calvin returns to school, he will be able to say that he has been gone for “just one second.”It seems risky for Hobbes to be climbing a tree. If Calvin’s Mom were to spot them, Hobbes would suddenly turn into a stuffed animal and he would fall from the tree. Reading comic strips and sharing humor are therapeutic, because we are enjoying living in the moment. Sadly, in the future we may be limited to doing this for just one second. This concludes my random thoughts on Calvin and Hobbes and language evolution for today.

I prefer living in the past!

    Things were much simpler then…

Waitaminute! Looks like Calvin really went out on a limb to make his point. So did Hobbes.

Reminds me of my college days. Why did it take so long to graduate?

“Be always resolute with the present hour. Every moment is of infinite value.” – Johann von Goethe

“See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:15:16

How I got through school until I was old enough for things like PA Crew that let me legally avoid going to school.

@Bill Spencer: The risk for Hobbes is that Mom may glance away as he is falling, causing him to change back into a real tiger before he hits the ground.

It wouldn’t be a good moment for you and your tiger if that branch your on broke.

@LeadingEdge: Iced tea and war stories? I’m more the Coke and peace stories type.

I’m sure Miss Wormwood appreciates your appreciation of the moment… as well as your absence.
