Frazz by Jef Mallett for May 01, 2015
Transcript:
Frazz: I have to get a long run in. Can I join you for the last three holes? Coach Hacker: That's not how golf works. Frazz: Oh. I could do the first three and peel off. Coach Hacker: No! You have to do it the right way or not at all. Caulfield: I like how you made it look like you were the one trying harder. Frazz: Golf is part strategy.

Why does Caulfield have a shadow over his face?

Good strategy to get out of playing the most boring game ever devised.

I prefer disc golf myself. The courses tend to be tucked into peaceful woods, and you can buy a whole bag of specialty discs for the price of one or two ball golf clubs.

Steve, I’d guess the “shadow” is so it works in newspapers that are still B&W

If Frazz did not want to golf, he really should have simply said so. It was not particularly nice or fair to Coach Hacker to pretend to want to go.

I would hope Frazz could see the hypocrisy in suggesting the first or last three holes of a round of golf. He would never consider it a good run if he only did the first or last three miles.

I’m with Frazz. I can take as many swings on three holes as many of my friends use for an entire round. Who needs 18?

See, now I didn’t see Frazz as the one trying harder at all, except trying to get out of the invitation without straight up saying he didn’t want to go golfing.
