Everyone is lucky that could be removed from the table, not least Eddie. That’s another move that would have earned me more than a stern talking-to when I was a kid.

Reminds me of the old joke where a father and son are building a model on the dining room table. The mother comes along and says something like, “I hope you remembered to put down newspapers first.” And the father goes, “Of course I put down newspaper first, I’m not an idiot,” then he goes to pick up the paper to show his wife and finds out that the newspaper is now glued to the table.
