I remember crowding around Uncle Bob’s set Sat night for educational TV, wrestling. The console was large, the TV was small. and someone always had to climb on the roof.
We used to go to a neighbor’s house to watch wrestling on Friday nights. We fanilly got our own TV in 1949. There was no programing until 2PM and then Howdy Doody came on.
To Wordman33: When I worked for the Mississippi State Prison in the early ‘80’s, we had a Deputy Warden that dressed just that way. He would make the NBC peacock nauseated.

Hmm, it could be the 1950s now. I know TV was invented in 1930s, but that was rare.

WW ll kind of slowed TVs development. So we didn’t get started with it right away, late 40’s early 50’s.
As it was TV didn’t come to this house until 1959.

If only it was that easy to knock certain shows and people off the TV screen…

In general, television broadcasting began in 1948.
