So will Nate intentionally fail the final and sacrifice his Summer just to spite Gina?

No way. If the characters ever aged in this strip, Nate and Gina would be a couple in high school for sure. It’s been made clear in previous strips that Nate really likes her deep down, but will never allow himself to admit it because she’s the exact opposite of him and she’s Mrs. Godfrey’s favorite student, and given Nate’s irrational hatred of Mrs. Godfrey, there’s no way he’d ever admit to liking anything or anyone Mrs. Godfrey favored.

This is going to be a fun week for Nate XD

It’s a lose-lose situation for Nate. If he passes, he’ll have to thank Gina for it and fuel her ego, but if he fails he have to sacrifice his summer… but then it’s also a win-win situation for Gina since if he passes, she’ll be known as someone who did the impossible, while if he fails, she gets to watch her enemy fail. Welp, at least someone gets something good out of this situation.

I really don’t like how Gina labels Nate a moron (in his own home, nonetheless) – what a bully!

But we all know what kind of person Gina is…..

Well, there’s already been one Social Studies final in which she ended up antagonizing Nate into getting a 99 out of pure spite. This time the challenge is pushing him to get a good grade by actually helping. (Although helpfulness isn’t exactly her strong suit)

Jeez, Gina. No need to be that much of a jerk to cover up your love for Nate :D
