When my daughters were young they liked to watch professional wrestling. Once they asked my wife and me if they could watch a big match that was on “paper view”. They got really mad when we started laughing. They weren’t trying to be cute.
When my oldest daughter (24) was about 4, she put her shoe on and then her sock. When we laughed, she got mad. The next day, she did it again, but we didn’t laugh, remembering how upset she became the day before. Only this time, she did it on purpose and got mad when we didn’t laugh. Can’t win.

But the truly cute jokes are the ones you don’t realize.

I love your look, kid, with those big, innocent eyes, but the act needs tightening. Maybe you should hire a script doctor….

Nice try, Alice, but this isn’t “Family Circus”.

He doesn’t like to laugh. It interrupts his constant vigilance.
