It’s unlikely that he would never need to buy anything. Sooner or later, one of those windows we can see in the background will break, and it’s unlikely he will own his own glass-making factory. But he can certainly get to a state where he’s growing most of his own food and even making his own soap, and only buys occasional items to replace things which have worn out and which he doesn’t have the means to make himself (spectacles, motherboards etc)..
