rj: so I haven't ever seen "Star wars".... verne: So what? so? what??! verne: It's only the most epic space opera ever conceived! RJ: better than "plan 9 from outer space"? verne: You're kidding? RJ: The special effects in "plan 9" were pretty impressive. rj: When the alien ran into the boom mic and cut his head, it was like he was really bleeding. verne: that's because he really was.

I figure that some people may not know about Ed Wood’s Plan 9 from Outer Space. It’s considered by some to be the worst movie ever made. But it’s so, so extremely bad it’s good.

I was in a bar with friends. A woman came in, saw us, and gave us the Plan 9 salute.

I enjoy bad sci/fi movies. I had heard that Plan 9 was bad, possibly the worst ever made so I thought I’d watch it. I mean how bad could it be? It’s bad. Really, really bad. I know the supposed plot, but I could not find it anywhere.

I can never watch Plan Nine all the way through. I keep getting the same feeling I get watching someone walk through a restaurant with TP trailing behind them — so embarrassing, can’t do anything about it.

I think the worst movie I ever saw in the theater was Spaceship. An Australian production with Austrailian actors who couldn’t act to save their lives and cinamatogrophy so bad a 5 year old with a cell phone camera could do better. I remember there was about 15 minutes of the movie where they were going through the sewers to avoid the rampaging robots and get to the space port and the screen was so dark you couldn’t see anything! All you could do was listen to the actors sloshing through the darkness while reading their dialogue.

Plan 9, the last film Bela Lugosi would ever appear in… albeit posthumously.

Very true. The worst movie I’ve ever seen is “Angry Red Planet”. Absolutely no redeeming qualities, plus some scenes may as well have been commercials for L&M cigarettes.
