I wish to apologize if I seemed a little over the top yesterday but, that devonshade guy really ticked me off. I was hoping he would check for responses to his little rant. I wanted to do a different kind of bantering with him. I have a strong distaste for selfrighteous, I’m better than you are arrogajnce. I would have been very polite and if he tried to olay the game i’d have had him so mad he’d want to know who I was and where I lived!

    Sorry, still some leftover venom.

LoneWolf, we have something in common, sir. I, too, am a pool player. Don’t have the game I once did, eyes and arthritis, but I played league pool back in the late 60s and early 70s. I still play, but not league, just for fun.

Slim, I have a lot of fun playing. Sometimes enough fun that I don’t concentrate like the other players on the team think I should. I’m their high skill level player and they think I should be more serious. They knew who I was when they asked me to be captain. :^)

Leaky, I love to play spades, too. But since I left the Army, I haven’t been able to find any regular players around these parts.

LoneWolfe. I was never a team captain, but the last game was always mine just in case it was a 7-7 tie.

I also play spades, but don’t know any other players. I prefer cut-throat to playing partners.

    Play dominos, too.

LW. Back in the early-mid 50s we used to play a game called moom with doninos. Kinda like spades in a way. You bid how many tricks you would take and named trump. Or you could shoot the moon which meant you were taking all the tricks Shooting the moon is also a phrase in hearts meaning you took all the points and everybody else gor stuck with 26 poimts against themm.

Slim, I understand all of what you are saying. I’ve played that variation and I know of “Shoot The Moon!” both in spades and hearts.

My dear Mr. Squeaky. On the subject of “Pocket Pool” I can only answer for myself. I used to play it regularly, up until my cue stick got so old it would droop whenever I tried to play the real thing, so I just gave the gsme up.

You forgot the nightowls and groupies, ML?

Thunder Storms. One of the most awesome ones I ever saw was in Montana, I was contracting for bringing in hay bales near Conrad. The storm was SW of where we were, actually. Theere was so much lightning and the clouds looked like they would drop a tornado any minute!
