As far as Webb, I’d call it a case of ideology slamming up against personal reality. (If you want to see his video, it’s right here.) Many of his other videos are extremely right-wing and quite gun-filled, so unless this was a plot seven years in the making, I’d say he’s for real.
As for Dixon White, it’s probable that this is a fictional character. However, it’s one created by a man who at the very least can easily pass as white (just like Louis C. K. can). And we need more white folks voicing what Dixon is voicing. It’s the only way we’ll eventually rid our country of the ugly scourge of racism and actually get to some real racial healing.
I know several Rednecks. I grew up in Texas, the galactic headquarters of Rednecks, and believe me when one of them says something intelligent, it’s worth putting it on the news.
