Gave one of those flip phones to Mom for her 80th birthday, showed her how to do speed dial and she had more problems with misdials than I can say. She went back to her land line because she had memorized all the numbers she usually dialed, yes, dialed on her rotary phone.
Don’t have a land line anymore—got too, way TOO MANY telemarketing calls. The National Don’t Call Registry didn’t work—doesn’t work on ‘flip’ phone either but not as many telemarketers ! ! ! !~
Land line phones were designed to survive nuclear attack. Cell phones won’t work if you are 5 miles off of the highway or high school got out for the day.
I gave up my land line, but I have discovered a really good use for it. It really came in handy when I needed to call my cell to figure out where I had lost it this time.
We have two cell phones, one is my hubby’s, one is mine. Is we can’t find one, we call it with the other. Who needs the cost of a land line? If I hang up on someone, I just check the last person on the call list. Then I call them. It happens so often to people, they are used to it.
I had to give up my land line because Verizon wouldn’t repair the copper wiring. I wonder if and when I or my wife need those button, will it work without the land line?

I have a “flip phone”, and I am a master of it!
Yup, I figured out how to “flip” the dang thing open using just my thumb!
Now, if I could just figure out how to make a call on the dang thing…

My flip still works fine. got rid of the land line, though. $38 a month if I don’t phone anyone. What a rip!

I have a land line because I want nothing to do with pocket phones. I like peace and quiet.
