Isn’t “Heisman-QB disappointment vortex” a redundancy? You can probably count on one hand the number of Heisman-winning QBs who’ve actually had good pro careers: Staubach is the only one who was a great NFLer while Spurrier, Plunkett and Flutie had their moments. Otherwise, it’s a steady stream of Davey O’Briens, Terry Bakers and Gino Torrettas.
