Did Alice find a dictionary in that bush. If so it looks like she swallowed it as most adults could not create the sentence in panel 5. True as it is.

Geez it’s like Grand Central Shrubbery in there.

The only shrub in the yard and the hose spigot is behind it. Sounds about right.

Oh Alice, you’re hosed. Poor kid.

I think this is how Henry David Thoreau got started…

So much for contented, Green Solitude, Alice. It’s an allegory of Modern Civilization (so-called), and a rather trenchant one at that.

And she is right.

This song tells the story of man’s never ending search for paradise….. and how he always spoils it when he finds it. It raises the question of whether we might even spoil heaven.

The Last Resort

Everybody popping out of the bush reminds me of Laugh In. And, you can bet your sweet bippy on that.
