Dougiie seems to have bailed. Unless the squirrels tossed him out during the back-swing.

Squirrels WILL use any and all means to get to the seed in the feeder.

One well place shotgun blast and dinner is served. I don’t mind feeding the squirrels in my yard because one day I may need meat in the freezer and they are already trained to come right to me.

Those squirrels may have miscalculated the response.

Our squirrels eat from our fingers, and will occasionally rap in the door or the window to let us know table five is out of peanuts. One time hubby was filling the bird feeder and felt a tugging on his trouser leg; a squirrel was sitting on his shoe top, with his paws on hubby’s pants. He probably would have climbed right on up and sat on his shoulder.

That may not be the response you squirrels get. You may end up in a new home entirely.

One squirrel, cute. More than one – get the dog and yell SQUIRREL! Though some dogs don’t need encouragement to chase. Our squirrels are friendly. Unless you do not feed. Then they will stand in front of you and give you a severe tongue lashing. Good thing we don’t speak Squirrel – because that language would be so blue!

I think the squirrels may have over played their hands. I see your swarm and raise you a humane trap and critter control.
