A more deserving cartoonist doesn’t exist – I’ve been waiting and hoping you can finally wipe the sneer off Rat’s face… and maybe you can move back into Steph’s off the porch… You’re my favorite cartoonist since Gary Larson and Berkeley Breathed retired. Keep up the good work!!!

See, the problem here is that there’s no one to punch the “return” button on the time machine. I guess Rat and Pig are gone for good, lost in the future from which there is no return. So, yeah, nice grave-tending is all that’s left for which to be grateful….

Apparently Rat isn’t very skilled at temporal technology. A proper time machine moves you back and forth through the 4th dimension, without being effected by the time shift.

so if rat and pig had met themselves in the future instead of their grave, would they have caused all of time to be misaligned? i guess that is why i am not a big fan of time travel. you just end up meeting yourself coming and going.

If you haven’t heard it, Dylan’s version is on his first album. It’s as rough and gravelly a presentation about a grave as I think Blind Lemon might have liked. But it’s all good!

They should actually be standing there, looking at the graves. That is, if they made it back to today to live the rest of their lives. If not, there would be no graves at all until some future time. And congrats on the Reuben, I’ll have to go look it up.
