I’ve a feeling that’s going to happen with “Let it Go” from Disney/Pixar film “Frozen” in 2053.

So, what’s wrong with that ? I would much rather have that happen than try to listen to what is called ‘music’ this day in age ! ! ! ! ! !

I taught my daughters to sing “We’re off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of us.” They still do. And I’m glad they do.

I actually heard that song a few times in the last couple of months. I think it was on XM radio

The Music we listen to these days is so full of Back Masking we don’t really know if it is any good or not.

At least we know the music of the “old days” wasn’t subject to auto tune or ghost singers. Even the so called live concerts by the younger set has them “singing” along to a track. When I see Springsteen, Tony Bennett and other performers of that era in concert, I know I am hearing live music, not watching them lip sync to their albums.

Each generation has its own idea of music. I agree with Paul that today’s “music” is mostly just vulgarity and noise, but a young man brought me up short on the subject once. He was a friend of my son and they were about 20 at the time. I had a CD playing that was from the big band era. He said it was “just noise to me”. I hadn’t considered that the phrase works both directions.

Yep, just like they did back then. Why do you think we still remember the words decades later? More like a permanent tattoo.

Sorry, now I have to do this:“We’d sing and dance forever and a day. We’d live the life we choose,We’d fight and never lose. Those were the days,Oh yes! Those were the days.”

That really has become the BB theme, hasn’t it?

A computer or synthesiser is only as good as its operator…… just the same as any other musical Instrument. I major hate is the fact that so many youngsters (especially women) sing through their noses.

Dave Clark Five covered that. I forget who had the original.I wish I could hear some ‘60s stuff besides my own records. There’s a station down in Philly that has a 3 hour program on Sunday nights 9-12 called “Street Corner Sunday” but that’s mostly ‘50s and early ’60s. It’s available online at wogl.com but you probably have to adjust your time by zone.

My mom used to turn the radio up to blasting level and dance around the house when THE BLUE BARREL POLKA came on the radio. I knew all the words to the TOO FAT POLKA as a preschooler: “I don’t want her, you can have her, she’s too fat for me…” She and Dad were scandalized when Elvis came along.
