Brutus: One of the major fast food chains is considering adding kale as a healthy menu option.
Brutus: I wonder how they're going to fit kale in with their other offerings.
Gladys: Deep-fry it?
The other day I saw TV chef Jacques Pepin bake Kale in a oven at 300 degrees to make it crunchy..Looked good..I don’t know how the “kale” he did it… :-)
There are different varieties of kale. I don’t like lacinato kale as much as I do other varieties. I’ve never tried purple-colored kale, but would be interested in trying it if it’s cooked, like the kale I do eat, for the most part. Kale wilts in the pot as it heats, like other greens do. It might be just the nearest Kroger store to me since I moved, but recently I’ve started putting chopped kale into Perfection Salad (a gelatin dish, with celery and pimiento added) instead of chopped spinach, since this Kroger, for some reason, doesn’t sell frozen chopped spinach like other locations do, but DOES sell frozen chopped kale.
If there’s one vegetable that was always available at several farmers’ market booths each and every week at last year’s farmers’ market season, it was KALE! And it sold well there.
Donald Donald,Kale has found its way into BABY FOOD; I remember discovering that about six years ago, seeing an infant girl eat it that way. I don’t know if Singapore mothers feed it to their babies more than mothers in other countries, but this little girl’s mother is from Singapore.

Just coat small stem-free pieces with olive oil, lightly salt it, and bake until crisp but not brown. So easy and so good!

Kale and Cauliflower Bake; it’s one South Beach Diet recipe I’ve made several times, and the kale isn’t bad at all.
