Back when we had land lines and answering machines, I recorded a message that said, beeeeep "This is a test of the National Emergency Broadcast System. In the next 30 seconds, you will be required to leave your name, phone number and message. Remember, this is only a test. If this had been a real emergency, we would have called YOU.

I preferred the paranoia of the 50’s and 60’s over the stuff we have today!

Only one idiot with his/her finger on the button back then…
