Well, thanks to Chip for supplying The Answer.

Just take away the train set. Think of how much money will be saved. Corporate tax cuts all around!

Emergency braking might have prevented this most recent accident, but remember, computers also fail, and have brought down airliners (Air France) and caused other havoc.

But Chip, the problem IS infrastructure and the refusal of CORPORATE RAILROADS, not Amtrak, to upgrade railbeds, land infrastructure, for DECADES! The serious rail problems, like coal and oil train derailments, are because of failing infrastructure that was supposed to be maintained and upgraded, by the CORPORATE entities given HUGE subsidies for over a century by the government (taxpayers, YOU DUDE!).

Railroad Grants Acts, and 1872 Mining Act have cost the taxpayers more than any action of Congress other than wars and “defense” spending. Without those two sets of legislation, and fair market value for those taxpayer owned resources given away, there wouldn’t be a national debt today. (Oil and gas leasing is of course in there as well)

No, in this case the rails weren’t the problem, but look into all those oil and coal train “disasters” around the country.
