Quite common to destroy a natural feature to build a housing development and then name it after the former feature: Babbling Brook Estates, Misty Meadows, etc.
abbybookcase: We had a case of angry squirrels in our garage a few years ago. Such language whenever we went in there! However, a few moth balls in their usual roosts took care of the problem (and any moths we did not see).

Out City’s like that too. Chestnut Trees on Walnut Street, Sycamores on Maple, just a mess, really!

I’ve often wondered that myself. “Willow Grove”? Not only are there no willows here, I’m pretty sure there have NEVER been willows here.

I lived on an Elm Street, but Dutch Elm disease had wiped the Elms out long ago.
Seem to remember having some nasty dreams while I lived there.
