Hey, I think I saw a bird coming outta that birdhouse you put up last year... Really? You saw one? Finally! Birdwatching hat... Check... Camera... Check. Binoculars... Check. Audubon guide... Check. I knew it! I knew my patience would one day pay off! I wonder which species are most common in this ecosystem. I'm not sure, but I think it was a woodpecker...

BTW, Montague, isn’t that a wooden ladder upon which you’re perched?…

I have always wanted to do that. My sister used to live in an area where they were roosting, and they used her yard as a mating ground in the fall. They would dive-bomb us as we walked to and from the car. Never hit us, though. Their swooping and swirling was quite the spectacle!

I feel sorry for “City Folks”. I can look out my back window most anytime & see quite a variety, including rabbits, squirrels, birds, and sometimes turkeys. The deer come up most evenings for the corn.

Why does he have binoculars? He about a foot away. What a dolt!

I’m impressed Monty’s birdhouse mounting skills withstood the fierce onslaught of the woodpecker!

oddly enough, the birds that have pecked the most holes in our home are chickadees and nuthatches. only one or two from flickers.

WE ques to have bat that hung from our porch light when it was turned off at night In the morning we’d find a handful of scorpion tails on the deck. Maybe bats sense UV light if there’s any at night… http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2080438/Why-DID-scorpions-evolve-glow-UV-light-The.html
