That was always my bad joke to family and friends whenever I saw one of those signs. I’d say, “I guess pants are optional, as they should be!” I barely got any giggles but I still say it.

I wonder if I could get away with this at work. Technically speaking, I must wear a shirt and tie. I am not allowed to wear shorts, jeans or sneakers. That leaves a lot of option in between.

I could wear heels and a skirt, the employee handbook does not make a distinction as to which gender is supposed to wear what.
