When we had our old Tandy it used to freeze all the time. Once, being pressed for time and getting increasingly frustrated, I typed in “DIE, SUCKER, DIE!” and hit enter. The darn thing started to work.
The old Tandy Color Computer BIOS was only good for 5 years then the date was invalid until you could get a new BIOS loaded and it took a couple of months to get the new BIOS update delivered. And people wonder why Tandy died out, even spell check has never heard of Tandy.
I’ve confused many people by getting computers to work by smacking them. Drive heads were less reliable then. Sometimes I could get a bad drive to work by squeezing it.
