Gee, Burl let me count the ways: Creative, inventive people are smart. They embrace education. They are curious. They have a vision. They work very hard. They are driven. They never give up. They see failure as a step to success. They are everything you are not.
Considering how many kids don’t bother tying their shoelaces, or how many wear sneakers without laces at all, the “velcro instead of laces” is pretty worn-out attempt at humor.
Yes, I wear sneakers with velcro, mostly because that’s the way the wide sizes in the brand I want are carried, unless I want to buy $100 sneakers.
Because of a lifelong hip issue, velcro, or even better, loafers, works for me. The other day I came across loafer tennis shoes. They now reside in my gym bag and I use them to work out.

And drawstring waist bands. A 26" Zenith? Are they in an Antique Store?

I like the Thomas Edison quote: “the reason people don’t recognize opportunity is that it’s wearing overalls and looks like hard work.”
