Wait. Did I say those were reviews of MY art? I just said they quoted art reviews.

But how does looking prove there isn’t an invisible elephant, or one the size of a microbe?

Whether there’s an elephant in your bathtub when we go and look is at best only circumstantial evidence as to whether or not there is an elephant there right now. He may finish his bath and leave before we get there.

USA Today would be believable. For that extra bit of realism, though, make sure to misspell a few words.

One day, while visiting the county offices, I spied a small booklet on a window ledge. The title was “Can You Prove There Is No Hell.” I still have this bit of misguided philosophy, mainly because of the logical boo boo in the title. My first reaction was, “No, but neither can you prove that there are no iridescent unicorns orbiting Neptune.”

i am reminded of the children’s book where the mommy elephant is desperate for peace and quiet and takes her tea and book into the bathtub. one by one her kids need to know what she’s doing and join her. finally she leaves the kids in the tub and goes elsewhere for quiet while the kids play in the tub.those kiddy elephants would be tough to miss (especially when they won’t go away)
