Actually, Danae had it right. She needs preliminary data in order to get funding secured.

Except that once you know who’s funding you, you know what results you need to massage the data to come up with.

I know someone commented on the funding part earlier this week. But I was expecting a more…thunderous reaction by Danae when she realized there’s no funding.
