In 1955 was riding the KC Zephyr from Kansas City to West Quincy. The conversation in the dome turned to illegal drugs and someone said they wondered what “weed” looked like. Someone responded, just look out the window! (Growing wild along the right of way)
A few years ago, in SE Iowa, the sheriff confronted a land-owner about “weed” growing in one of his fence rows:“Just a weed, always been growing there!”Pulled one up, and on the roots, was the remnantsof a peat-pot!!(Busted)
