If you’re always screaming it’s all the easier to tune you out. I found talking softly and being consistent worked best. Being loud demonstrated diminishing returns.

I had to snicker at the first panel. My mom would have been up in the tree with me. :o) (she had to climb trees to teach our monkey how to climb). I had a cool mom.

my brother and i loved climbing trees. till the day my parents looked out the window and saw us at the top of a pine tree, wiggling slightly in the breeze. they curtailed our activity after that. bummer

I found that I could reason with my daughter by the time she was 3. So I never needed to yell.
