So, if someone is coming from the other direction, the light at the end of the tunnel is a wall of fire, that leads into a Wall of Voodoo? “I wish I was in Tijuana, Eating barbecued Iguana” Yeah, I know I already used it, but that part of the video where someone is turning an Iguana on a spit just pops into mind here. It is a new month a TopWebComics, and last I looked, all four of the regulars were doing well, so if you want, vote at TopWebComics.
Kirbee is doing remarkably well under the circumstances. Hearing that all the babies are dead, then seeing a whole big group of your people on fire; that would have put most anyone into a complete breakdown. She is remarkably loyal to Chic, Holly and Wally.
I hope she goes with them to see the green land. And poor Chic has seen more traumatizing events in his short life than most kids.
I didn’t like thisar much at all but it has been so original and compelling, and in some ways mirrors things happening these days.
I’m still hoping Chic will be reunited with his mother, Queen Helena. She was, after all, the only member of the family that truly loved Chic. And we haven’t seen her since before she beat the stuffing out of her no-good husband. So I am a little curious as to how she’s looking, as well as how she’s feeling.
Hopefully they don’t return to Endtown as the green lands are intriguing. We’ve been here for two years, time see the rest of the world, we’ve seen glimpses, but there is so much to explore. Please move forwards not backwards.
Here’s hoping Kirbee will survive into the main cast. Had high hopes for Jim before he went coo-coo for lizard puffs. But, think the comic does need a bit of a happier character, well, despite all the obvious tragedy going on right now…
This strip shows an interesting difference in outlook. Kirbee is a lot like the average Endtowner, she has spent so much time in a nice safe colony and can be shocked by horrors such as the one she is witnessing. Wally and Holly have spent enough time topside that they are somewhat immune to its horrors.I would like to see them explore the great green. I wonder if Kirbee will go with them. She would add some interesting perspective to their adventures.
Even despite being the authors of their own destruction, and relishing what amounted to murder for sport, I still feel pity for these people.
Not for what monsters they were earlier, and the monstrous ideology they became unwittingly seeped in, but the people they always were, in spite of that.
The greatest tragedy here, is the sheer waste. Both of people, and of minds.
In her previous life, Kirbee probably worked in an office, as one of those people who was a permanent fixture and did a lot of things but nothing useful.
The one thing our author does not show us.But I for one have heard too many times. The screams of some one burning to death. It still haunts me to this day.Poor Kirbee.
The Lizard folk may have been just like “us” but they turned to the dark side the minute they decided that diversity was evil, something to be destroyed in the name of “racial purity”. No empire will or ever has ever achieved such a monstrous accomplishment and survived without failing miserably.

Welcome to the Post-Apocalypse. Having a bad day is not an option. Unless you’re in Mad Max. Then you can have a nice day.

Yeah, but if you stand around, it’ll be a really bad death.

Love the way Holly is so protective of Chic, hiding his face from the horrors and keeping her arm around him while they run.

Hmmm. What if the source of all the fire is some kind of poison gas. A highly flammable poison gas that permeated the porous rock walls…

@salen stormwing You mean a wonderful day, all shiny and chrome.

Also, the attempted reptilian escape? MEDIOCRE.
Jim’s last words? WITNESS ME!
That movie is endlessly quotable.

Hmmm, wonder if the group will be returning to the original Endtown now?…

she may end up being the colony’s sole survivor…a single raccoon killed all of these reptiles

I think Holly’s apron has become Kirbee’s security blanket. It’s her anchor to quieter times.
