When I originally wrote this cartoon, I explicitly made mention of birthday parties at those trampoline places. My wife (and initial editor) said I was being too heavy handed and that I should trust you guys to work all that out on your own.
I’ve read that there were ‘Trampoline Pits’ that were very popular places in the 70s or so around our town. After a few broken bones and the subsequent die-off of interest, they closed up. Now, decades later, there’s SkyZone, which is pretty much the same thing, with better padding. And waivers.
I remember the trampoline pits in the early 1960s. My brother and I loved it, reasonably cheap way to burn off energy. Another industry destroyed by attorneys.

When I was a kid, and had cake, I never bounced off the walls.

I wish I had a trampoline as a kid.
The only trampolines I went on were the ones at school in our PE lessons.
