    Typically, people with severe presbyopia hold reading materials further away from their eyes when their condition is untreated, or under-treated with glasses that are not strong enough.

    If anything, holding a page that close to one’s eyes may indicate that the eyeglass prescription is correct, or perhaps even too strong.
