See folks, it’s not that one character or another ends up getting played by someone of a different ethnicity than the character is intended to be. It’s that this is an ongoing pattern, and the pattern is that white folks get to play non-white folks all the time, but the reverse is for the most part not the case.

Supposedly the upcoming Dr. Strange movie has Tilda Swinton playing the Ancient One, a Tibetan man. Meanwhile, Baron Mordo, an Eastern European villain, will be played by Chiwetei Ejiofor (star of "Twelve Years a Slave.) Hmm…

“Why should we choose an ethnic to play an ethnic when white actors are so much better at it? And white viewers will go see them?”What was it Ridley Scott said, again?

Oh dear mee suds. Simple solution, if the casting of a movie drives you crazy, DON’T go see it. Tougher solution SPEND your own money and produce what you want. The entertainment market will decide.

Was the all black cast in Porky and Bess reverse discrimination? No it was proper casting.

Was all the white parts sung by the great back opera singer, Leontyne Price political correctness. No she simply was the best

Does mean there is no racial discrimination. No, trying getting a job with the NAACP if you are not black.

Well, to be fair, there were very prominent roles for dinosaurs, many of which were green and brown. Maybe the producers thought that covered it? But yeah, you’re right. It’s like large swathes of Hollywood actively dislike casting anyone who isn’t white. Jurassic World is especially telling, because ain’t nobody going to that movie to see the humans in it. They’re all going for the dinosaurs. So why not at least make room for some of the amazing, brilliant actors of color that are struggling to land jobs?
