G’day Jason, Barb, Joe, Dry, Lonewolf, Bjorn and all Meggsie’s mates.
Try looking at this way Dad. The animal freight section would be much better than having Tony and Mike undiscovered in a suitcase in a low-pressurised compartment of the plane. Just think of what happens to liqueur chocolates that are in suitcases in the luggage bay.
If I was in Dad’s shoes and uttered those words I would have to concede I was starting to admit defeat. Subtle maybe but that’s how dads are.
Looks like I’ll be spending another day tomorrow hitting the regen button.
We played a similar game except that instead of the first person whispering something, they tugged an ear lobe, tapped the shoulder, etc., of the person on their left. This usually ended in a riot.
Joe: LOL. Took me a few minutes to work that one out. I said (typed) ‘r i o t’ but the letters do seem to make the word ‘n o t’.
The experiment in using physical means to convey a message rather than just an ora onel was a most revealing success. Yes, it ended in a happy r i o t, it was a fun thing. Ever since then I have left a little room for misunderstandings in written words that carry no inflection of voice and no body language.
In that regard, emails can be misleading and are not really a good way of communicating feelings other than superficial ones.

Although this is an aussie comic strip, to me I picture the characters taking like americans.

We were adults. It was a demonstration thing to visually show just how facts can become distorted when passed from one to another.
Oops, think I split an infinitive in there.

It’s okay, usfellers. That way you can share.
usfellers over 14 years ago
Yes ottod, we did share. They were a great bunch of people. Together, we got ourselves through difficult times for all of us.

Gee Joe, why don’t you get your dictionary and look up the word say. Using say/said in reference to writing is acceptable. You should know that.
