It’s the very rare doctor these days who has time to even say ‘hello, how are you?’ to a patient, let alone look at a baseball card. Doctor visits are like a factory line now.

I retired and moved to Ecuador in 2013. Now I have the home phone number of my doctor. If I ask for an appointment in the morning, I will have one that day. When I visit him, he gives me full attention for as long as it takes — I have been there as long as an hour. And the bill? $30. No insurance. That is simply what he charges.
Rather nice change from when I was working in the US… :)

Yeah, but what good is prompt healthcare doing for you in Ecuador? We might have to wait a bit in New Orleans, but having fun all of the time makes up for it.
