Seems like lately someone is angrily screaming every day. Not a happy home.

Okay, I understand that having kids tends to change things in your lives, but sometimes a little quiet is required… Kids can be kids, but they can also do quiet activities… I did when I was a child, I don’t understand why that doesn’t happen any longer…

Well said, Tanya. There should be a balance, or they should learn how to play at a reasonable decibal level, or they should go outside and let off some steam. The kids who are always allowed to run around at top speed and volume are the same ones who don’t know how to act in public. Having said that, John could establish some discipline in a more civilized manner.

Remember a pillow fight probably doesn’t last all day. When it gets out of hand, the parent is right to stop it. Then off they go to another activity, which could be less rambunctious so quit ragging on a parent that we see only for a short span of the day.

There are inside voices and outside voices, Inside games and outside games.

Ideally, kids play hard outside so they can play quietly inside.

Unfortunately ….. I think Elly’s short temper and screaming fits have finally rubbed off on John! Those poor kids. :o(

Oh dear, John yells at the kids too!

I agree that kids who are allowed to do as they dam please, have a lot of trouble adjusting – and often get put on Ritalin so the teacher doesn’t have to yell at them all day long. Many of today’s ADHD kids are just undisciplined kids that have no boundaries.

The comic is, of course, exaggerated for the laugh, but most of us who have had any part in dealing with kids know that their activities can definitely get out of hand if there are no boundaries.

One little monkey jumping on the bed; He fell off and broke his head. Mama called the doctor and the doctor said, “Why ya’ callin’ me? Call a VET instead!”

At least that’s the way we do it at my house. My kids just giggle themselves silly over it. That, and the monkeys in the tree that tease the alligator until … SNAP! I can do that one for 10 or 15 minutes straight and they will still laugh. Two-year-old kids are so much fun that way.
