Found that bull on Google Maps. Sure looks like he’s been put out to pasture. Clear out in left field.Hint: Search for “Mulkey Square Park, K. C. MO”

Ha… that’s why you kept me busy over on Brevity, X … so you could beat me to Cowtown.

But thanks for the search tip.

I was going to say you mean “she’s been put out to pasture…"

but I dunno… that cow looks pretty bullish.

Charlie did you steer us wrong?

Dog….that’s for sure what I’D be saying!

Good research, friends! The Hereford Bull statue was unveiled in the early 1950’s for the Hereford Building (715 SW Hereford Drive, KCMO) which housed the Hereford Association. When they sold the building to HNTB, an Architects/Engineers Planners company, the new tenants removed the fiberglass bull from its pedestal. When discovered it was missing, the KC citizens began asking questions. After much uproar, a new pedestal was built and the bull statue was plopped atop it across the highway in Mulkey Park. Meanwhile, it was discovered that there was a spare bull in storage nearby (i guess in case this one was damaged or knocked off the…). This original artwork was purchased from me for the FBI building (where it still hangs), which is, indeed, across the field from the great bull.

Did you know we are compatible with bovines? My sister had one of her heart valves replaced with a bovine valve. Our bodies do not reject the valve so no need for medications to keep us from rejecting the cow part. I wonder what that says about us?

Nice to expand knowledge of KC to the rest of the world! Until I read the comments, I wondered how anyone outside of the city would get it. :-)
