Good Morning, Graham. This is such a fantastic idea, honouring your commenters in this way. I think this strip is the happiest and most harmonious at GoComics. Of course, the Ten Cats are brilliant too. I read every strip twice; the first time just after it updates which is 7AM in our South African winter. The second time is the next morning when I come back to read all the comments and enjoy all the kitty pictures that are posted. Long may it all last. Oh, and happy Father’s Day guys!
Graham: I’m speechless! And, that doesn’t happen very often. Like others here, I come back and read postings several times a day. In the morning, I go back and read the last ones from the night before.
This one gets printed and framed! This means more to me than the plaque from the school district I used to work for that said “Thanks for 30 yrs of service”.
Hello all Ten Cats fans!I’ve been catching up on the strips and comments for the last five days or so as I’ve been busy and only managed to glance at TC a couple of times. What can I say! There’s been so much going on in the strip and comments that I’m sorry I wasn’t around to contribute anything..First things first:@Rikki TaviRikki, so sorry to hear about the passing of the venerable Smudge, 20 years is a large part of your life and the loss of a companion of that length of time leaves a huge hole. When they come into your life they find their way into your heart and when they go it hurts. I lost 19yo Tumble earlier in the year. Only time will allow the happy memories smooth over and ease the pain of Smudge’s passing, but it will get easier to remember the happy times. I always say that the pain of losing them is not a reason not to have them in your life...To all TC fans (and readers) who are having health issues, keep positive and believe that things will improve and you will feel better than you are right now in the near future. A positive outlook is incalculable in assisting the healing process...To QofA (and all fosterers), hats off to you all for your time, effort (and money), you put in towards the health, welfare, and rehoming of our four-legged furry friends. I hope Tux finds his furrever home soon :-)..Finally, a big thank you to Graham H for todays strip, what a fantastic gesture :-)
Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers. My Dad used to grow Boysenberries behind the garage and yesterday our local berry farm had Boysenberries and I am eating them and thinking of my Dad-who also loved cats. Here he is with one of my cats Willie.
AWESOME TRIBUTE, GRAHAM! So very cute! It’s nice to know when the artist appreciates his fans, and you most certainly do! The way you worded this one today reminds me of one of Ian Jones Bushy Tales strips where he fits a lot of names of songs or famous people into the strip in such a way that it all fits together, just like yours did today. Perfect.
2Old, I am at the age where I wake up wondering what new ache I will experience that day. Currently it is a bum left leg. A trip to the hospital and blood tests ended up with me taking ibuprofen and using a hot pad and “deal with it”, so I am.
Wonderfull! I love it when an artist acknowledges his/her fans.I think thats one of the reasons why i love this strip so much. And why it stays hi in my queue.
First of all, Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there.Graham, what a lovely tribute to the readers of the strip. You are to be commended. To all those who had dedications, congratulations!
I never comment, but love the board here almost as much as the strip. But today I will join my voice to say it’s so wonderful to see the fans recognized by the artist! Nicest cartoon out there!
Well, people, here at Cat Central life goes on apace.
(And because we’re all suckers for cats, here’s something about our ex-tomcat (we had him fixed but he still hasn’t noticed) who is a combination of Chuck Norris, John Wayne and Solomon. It is a true story of a recent occurrence.)
Numbnuts the next door neighbor has acquired another three cats that he keeps outside most of time and generally ignores. (Why the hell do idiots like that even want to have a pet seeing as they just neglect and ignore them?)
Anyway, one of the big dogs (Husky mix) from the end of the road was on the loose last night. Known to be a cat killer. Just wandering around the neighborhood.
Those three cats hang out on the porch of their owner’s house.
Along comes the dog. He’s going to go after the cats on the porch.
Around the side of the house strolls our tomcat who has befriended these hapless cats.
Tomcat places himself between the dog and his friends, does the inflating cat trick and just stands there, silent, staring at the dog.
Cat stands there like a gunfighter in a shoot out – just radiating “Come get some, Motherf….”
Dog doesn’t know what this cat is up to. Cat hasn’t read the “Cats are afraid of dogs” rulebook. Cat is also very, very confident and very, very calm. Cat may have knife, gun or maybe tactical nuke hidden on his person.
Dog stares at cat…
…cat stares at dog.
You hear a Sergio Leone tune playing softly, somewhere.
Dog shuts up, turns around and goes back to his house, looking nervously over his shoulder, Tomcat is following close at his measured pace behind to make sure he (the dog) gets the hell out of Dodge.
You could offer me fifty thousand dollars for that cat and I still couldn’t sell him…
Happy Father’s Day. God Bless Our Fathers, Past and Present.-———@Graham: I am deeply honored. Thank you my friend. Wishing you great success with Ten Cats and more in the future.-———@2old, More Cats Than Sense and Rikkie Tavi: Awesome Father’s Day Cat Photos. -———My left eye is same as yesterday.-———Have a splendid day everyone.
Oh its so hard playing catch-up, but I will try.Rikkie Tavi, I am so sorry to hear you lost your furry friend of so many years. Smudge will be waiting for you when you get to heaven and I know you will be going there as you are just too nice a person not to be headed there. Loved the story about your dad also!Starman, I am so glad your eye is getting better!2Old, you take care of yourself, you hear me young lady? Gweedo, you are a sweetheart, and I know you enjoyed yourself with Puppyface.Eldo, your litter is drying out – lol -kf1sq, what a wonderful story!MCTS – terrific pictures!Graham Harrup, You Sir, are simply the best. You honor us with a wonderfully funny strip and putting us in there with the kitties just warms my heart. Thank you and I hope you are having a wonderful fathers day!Since I am here, I have to post my favorite cat daddy pic -
Wet & Soggy said about 1 hour ago: Starman, I am so glad your eye is getting better-—-Thank you my friend.-—————-Gweedo said about 1 hour ago: Mr Harrop has connection to his readership……-——I concur. More artists should make that connection to their readers. Nighthawks and StelBel are two more who have a good connection with their readership as does Mike Curtis.-——————Have a splendid day my friends.
I’m starting to worry just a teeny bit about my foster babies. They eat like pigs, drink plenty of water, are very active, lots of deposits in the litter box, but none of the boys seem to be getting fatter or bigger. I have never had a litter where they didn’t grow like weeds. I got them on the 4th or 5th and they are now about 9 weeks old.
I ordered a cool pet play pen so I can have them in the kitchen when I’m sewing or in here when I’m on the computer or reading.
It’s called the BEST PET FOLDING PLAY PEN. If anyone has it, let me know how you like it.
Oliver and I are astounded, Graham. What an honor to be named in this wonderful strip. Just told my son AND Oliver, who received a kiss. Absolutely made my day.
Thank you, Graham! That was such a nice thing to do!
I’m sure print-outs of today’s strip will make their way to many a distant friend via snailmail…and to bulletin boards, refrigerators, and wall frames. Not to mention that the memory will warm a lot of hearts.
Queen, some cats are just small and perfectly healthy. Our two Siamese gave us concerns because of their size but the vet says they are perfect, if not a little fat! If you know the parents, you should compare to them. If not, just check in with your vet at the normal times.
Susan- no puns? How about they play “Good Day Sunshine” just for you. You always make us laugh again, after the first laugh of the strip.
