Secure in my superior intellectual capacity, for many years I corrected paperwork changing the spelling to “duct tape.”Well, I recently found out it is “duck tape”, from the company that invented it. I always thought it was used somehow in air conditioning ducts. So much for smarts. Like “scotch tape”, a brand of tape.Janitors “hoover” a carpet. I recently saw hoover used in a mainstream piece of writing. My Mother’s generation called any camera a “kodak”.Aspirin was a brand name.Sheet rock is a brand name for drywall board.
Apologies for the thread hi-jack. I just got back from ER and the Dr. gave me some really good meds.
