Ned: ...So even after Danae gets Jeffrey to admit zombies don't exist, he still won't let go of the zombie apocalypse fantasy. Man: Sheesh. Some people can't deal with reality because they desperately want their hysterical fantasy to be true. Ned: Exactly. Now substitute "zombies" with "WMDs in Iraq"... Man: I still say it was justified!!

This was a very long, convoluted path to take to get to this point. But suggesting that there is an equation between a belief in zombies and a belief that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction will probably mean that this ’toon will have more postings than any other GoComic ’toon…

Nobody ever gave details about those generic “weapons”. WHAT were they? Gas canisters? Hardly, all the gas bought from Germany had been used on the Curds. Atomic bombs? unlikely, the only ones to have them AND have the guts for deploying them on people are the USA. So WHAT? Enormous slingshots? Catapults? Monster firecracks? Lethal TV shows?
Old Texan75 over 9 years ago
Funny that Alberto should mention enormous slingshots. There was a news photo of some Iraqi’s using a large slingshot.

Now substitute “zombies” for “hope and change”…
or
Now replace “zombies” with “you can keep your doctor”…

Yes, of course, and that is why the region is now stabilized. After all, we have only been there since 2003, at a cost of over 4000 US military lives, and untold civilian lives. And the region is “stable,” if you don’t count all the violence. (/end sarcasm)

People like to forget that during the Clinton administration, they all thought that Iraq had WMD. Democrats. Republicans. Everybody.

Chemical weapons were found. Chemical weapons are weapons of mass destruction. The news media did show / relate stories regarding the convoys of semis going from Iraq to Syria. You lefties have selective memories (you ignore everything that refutes your blind allegiance to the democrat party).

simply check the voting records of the republicans and democrats beginning in 1960…you can see who truly cares about veterans and who could give a s@@t./…also mr Bush just charged a veterans organization one hundred thousand dollars to give a speech to help veterans..not hate for the man…but extreme disappointment…

Ok, as I see it, this is about Iraq and hidden arms? Can we really do anything to “undo” this now? Why are we still beating a dead horse?!?!?!??!

“you CANNOT “substitute … with”.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~.Wow! (Now to finish my comment before I was so rudely interrupted):~~~~~~~~~~~~Wow! I thought I was fairly knowledgeable about the English language, but apparently I’m not. I did not know that. Now all I have to do is try to remember it. That will be the hard part. But thanks for the info.

I get it now, this is really about continuing to Bash Bush regarding Iraq. Must be, cause there is nothing we can do to change anything, unless…..someone has a wayback machine?!?!?!?
gordol over 9 years ago
Almost right. He was a weapon of mass distraction. And any such WMDs that he might have (still) had, were purchased from the United States during the Iraq/Iran war in the ’80s.

It is interesting how WMDs do not include poison gas and biological weapons, but it does cover pressure cookers and fireworks, I guess it depends on how many Americans are killed.

My first comment was because I knew Wylie had set the morons in motion. “War on Iraq” written by William Rivers Pitt (real journalist) and Scott Ritter (U.S./U.N. weapons inspector) and published in 2002, spelled out what Saddam didn’t have, long before the invasion. The few outdated and deteriorated chemical munitions after the invasion, were WORTHLESS as weapons. The real stuff was long gone by ’95, and Rummy sold the chemical stuff to Saddam in the first place that was used against Iran in that little 8-year war,, and yes, the Kurds.
One of the best kids I ever knew was killed on her second tour as a medic. Another of the best kids, my SON, was severely injured and ended up disabled retired, and disabled for life. Part of that damage was from the idiotic burn pits the U.S. contractors burned off, poisoning thousands of our own troops, causing severe physical problems.
The REAL ZOMBIE was Dick Cheney, who finally got a heart IMPLANT, not a transplant or exchange, as it was obvious for decades he had no heart until that surgery. His wife still funcitons without a heart, just a cash register to monitor her, and her husband’s value system. Life is irrelevant to them if it reduces profit, by even 1%.
BTW, my son was also on the teams searching for weapons, they found ZERO viable weapons after the invasion ZERO! If you find four year old expired cottage cheese, as a Bush supporter, of course you’ll eat it anyway, ‘cause they say it’s good for you!

Absolutely hysterical how so many here today make a desperate attempt to pretend they don’t get the point, then try to misdirect the point, only to validate the point in doing so…then cap it off by trying to make themselves (conservatives, Bush/Cheney apologists) out to be victims. Classic.

It is not as if Saddam were a TEA Party non-profit group, that he should have been subject to US sanctions and hostility. But Bush did have Congressional approval. Not at first, of course. But then the Democrats demanded a second vote so that they could amend their earlier decision not to go into Iraq to investigate the alleged threat.I’m still surprised that Bush was able to not only force them to vote for the action, but to force them to demand a second vote to negate the first, so that they could later say that he fooled them into doing it. For the dumbest guy in the world, he sure could easily enough find dumber people to fool. But you have to see it clearly as Bush at fault, as written with the politically correct revisions in place. If you just lived through it a day at a time, you really don’t understand it at all and are in need of re-education.

“Better the Devil you know..” was never a more apt expression than in describing U.S,policy in Iraq et environs.Dubya and his crowd have qualified for a new chapter in Barbara Tuckman’s “The March of Folly” right behind the one on the Trojan Horse. That would give them a gigantic lead in the “Dubious Achievements of the Half Century” contest.Maybe the U.S. has learnt something from all this but judging from B.O.’s actions its a mighty big “maybe”.

The difference is, the British have never backed off from their intel that they found WMD in Iraq. The liberal lie “There were no WMDs” lives on and will never die.

Amen, Sue. Last non-rabid info I caught seemed to indicate that the information on the WMDs came from sources that were reputed to be reliable that turned out to be flat-out wrong. But thanks to media and human nature, the messengers who delivered the info got blamed 100%. And we’ll never know for sure. Sad piece of history.
