I try but I have dark tinted windows to keep out the sun. I hope people see me waving thanks but I can never be sure. I don’t however trust anyone waving me on in front of them if they actually have the right of way. Never have never will.
When their turn indicators aren’t working, Pluggers use hand signals,though, in northern states, it is not OK to just open the door instead of rolling down a window to signal a turn.
I hate “polite” drivers. One of my biggest pet peeves. When the person who has the right of way waves me on,I refuse to take it. That’s not how traffic laws work. And they’re the way they are because it’s safer that way

This is impossible! How can anyone behind the wheel see you waving when they are looking down at the “hand held device” occupying all their attention?
