I agree Grog, the art is so good on so many Sunday strips. It really makes you appreciate the talent these cartoonists have. I take particular notice of the shadows of Red and Rover.
That was nice of him. Since I don’t have or want my own website, I won’t be able to do that. Glad all of you joined me over hare after my move from the Washington Post Writers Group and comics.com. -BB
It is the sweet relationship between Red and Rover that makes this strip work so well for me. It reminds me of when I grew up, when times were more innocent and so was I. No worries, just a warm spring day, a dog to keep you company and parents who didn’t have the need to worry if you were gone all day.
Brian, I visit comics.com almost every day. When I discovered you were no longer available on their site I couldn’t understand how they could have allowed to to go. I immediately started to search out where you had moved to and Happy Day! I found you here.
Red and Rover are such a loving, fun pair, devoted to each other and gentle in their approach to life. Their relationship is so much like the one I enjoyed with my Blackie when I was a kid and that relationship continued over the lifetimes of all the wonderful dogs I have shared my life with.
Thank you for giving us a boy and his dog couched in the tenderness that many of us remember and long for. You are amazingly talented in your art work but even more so in creating the fabric that binds us all together with Red and Rover.
Many thanks and may you continue doing what you do for a very long time.
Again, I am touched by all of your nice comments – they really mean a lot. I’ll try to bop in from time to time. I just finished a week of strips that will run in three weeks where Red and Rover revisit when they first met. I mixed how the current Red and Rover appear with scenes taken from the original first week of strips that ran the week of May 7, 2000. They’ve changed quite a bit. -BB
I adore the innocence and true-ness of this comic! I see my little boys and dogs in every strip and keep my fingers crossed that they will experience the simple times with equal delight. Thank you so much Brian! Time for a new book!

Great color and shading: it really creates a haunting sense and mood of the moment.
I bet it was an artistic struggle not to put up a yellow moon but that would have been too vibrant and awake..
The bluish moon and his expression really set an atmosphere of stillness and waiting.

Thanks for dropping by Brian. I appreciate your work here and have appreciated it on Adam@Home even well before I knew about Red & Rover
