Heart: Hey, mom, where do we keep the extra paper towels? Heart: sheesh! Relax, mom. It's not like I never saw you naked before. Mom: One of these days, I'm gonna go psycho on this kid.
If I would have done that to my mother my head would have been separated from my shoulders. If we REALLY needed mom or dad when they were in the shower, we knocked, waited for a response, and talked through the door. We also knew that what we needed them for was at least close to an emergency or we got “reeducated” after the shower was over. Its called respect for other people’s privacy.
see high anxiety, the mel brooks spoof of hitchcock. great stuff including the shower scene where a crazy guy “stabs” him with the newspaper(remember those?) and the “blood” (ink) runs down the drain. oh yeah.
Now that I’m back from doing things all day. I didn’t mean the way the comic is isn’t the original order. I meant the comic would make more sense in the other order.

Besides, why would Heart even commit matricide… with cardboard tube?

Panels 7, 8, and 9 should have appeared before panel 6.

With children there’s no privacy.

Yes. IIRC, the blood in the shower scene was red. The contrast between the B&W was very dramatic.

Panel five shows Heart as a shadow so the cardboard tube looks like a knife.

Families are so different. Some parents wouldn’t give this kind of barging in a second thought, while others would indeed go “Psycho.”
