We were born naked…I don’t think getting slammed down with out underwear on will matter too much. Just think of it as one less thing the coroner will have to remove during the autopsy.
Actually, I just took another look at what (I believe) were the original scans of the art from 2001.
I’m almost positive now that I DIDN’T flip any of the art. It seems clear to me that Dick (who was a car enthusiast) must’ve deliberately put the steering wheel on the right. Which means this story (unknown to me–and I wrote it!) takes place in Great Britain!
(Either that or the owner of the car is so rich that he had the car shipped from Britain.)
It really changes nothing about the story. And I personally think that Miss Muffet herself is American. Still, I’m surprised!
I lived in England for a few years and at the end of my street was a car dealership with a big classic AMERICAN limousine (steering wheel on the left) displayed in the showroom.

What did your mother always tell you? Always wear clean underwear! You never know when you’re going to the hospital!

Her underwear probably got dirty the same way Sir Rodney’s armor got dirty.

She’s wearing underwear?

At least she’s wearing a Keebler’s Fudge Stripe cookie as an earring, so she won’t go hungry.

^or it’s a billionaire who just likes his Rolls that way. Or maybe he’s a British billionaire who brought his favorite car with him….

I saw this in “A TOUCH OF MINK”. Does she get Gigged or Cary-ed away?
(Someone has been cheating on machismo with the Doris Day movies again.)

Oh, no! It’s a dying millionaire, but he’s Rock Hudson!

Underwear is just another unnecessary hindrance in the rush to nakedness.

@ransomdstone said England anyone? My stearingwheel’s on the left.
In my younger days I did some valet work and all the Rolls we parked had the steering on the right.
And I second: She’s wearing underwear? Not a proper gold digger then.

It’s funny, but I never noticed the steering wheel situation until ransomdstone mentioned it.
I don’t have the original art, but Dick either drew it that way or–more likely–I flipped the art for some reason.
In any event, the story is officially set in England now.
