In the Spanish Baldo, that’s not exactly what Gracie says. I get the implication that she means that she has to work harder to excel

I was a hot-shot Gracie type in high school. Then I went off to an Ivy League college and was just one of the pack. It was a very healthy dose of reality.

How about the little girl just stay a LITTLE GIRL in the funnies instead of a single-minded twit with the same theme repeated so much it gets totally boring? A little bit is fine, but it seems like this idea is nothing but a crutch because it’s been in SO many Baldo strips.
