Bubba Watson is from here in the Pensacola, FL area, & he has stated that he is going to have the flag on the roof of the General Lee painted over. Many are outraged at him bending over to the PC crowd, & say it will no longer be considered the General Lee, & are asking him to sell it instead, to someone who will keep it as is, & was meant to be. If the PC crowd thought that the smile on the Mona Lisa painting looked to be too leering, would they want that painted over, someone asked. Admittedly a bit of a stretch, but where does this PC stuff end. Everyone can be offended by anything for any reason good or bad.
My reply to Tarredandfeathered yesterdays comment:@Tarred—-It was not only TV ads that were banned. ALL tobacco related advertising of any kind was banned. It included print & TV, & everything else. The tobacco companies could also not give out or sell any advertising related products—lighters, hats, T-shirts, etc. (other than their product packaging of course) with any of their logos or advertising on it. I still have some Marlboro items with their name & logo on it. Probably real collector items now.
Davis may have been a traitor but the South was perfectly in their rights to secede from the Union. Lincoln can be blamed for all the bloodshed and breaking all kinds of laws.
