It could be worse. My neighbors once had a very fat and very friendly St Bernard that would greet everyone by rolling over to get her belly rubbed – that is, lay down on your toes and roll over towards you. I figure that she knew that if she rolled over away from you, she would end up four feet away, and knowing how lazy humans are, she didn’t trust you to follow. And maybe she enjoyed the short side and back massage as you frantically kept pulling your feet out from under so you could step back.
