I think it’s a much better idea for Cory to ask the mayor for a “Dress Like A Wizard” week than it was to suggest legalizing polygamy (as he apparently did yesterday).
Yes, the mayor is crazy, but Cory’s strategy to name any price the mayor feels so desperate to give him - so long as it’s harmless - is actually a pretty good way to placate a crazy man.
Besides, it’s not just harmless but fun. And if the local media can’t take a joke, then they wouldn’t last two seconds here in NYC! After all, we’ve had mayors dress in kookier than wizard costumes … big-man Ed Koch playing a leprechaun with a shillaleigh in the St.Pat’s parade, macho Giuliani dressing in drag at various spoof events, etc.
