Well Cathy, there is always Europe with it’s “clothing optional” beaches and spas… I love living in Europe, but finding a modest bathing suit there is even harder than Stateside! LOL

In Germany it is called “F.K.K.” and in many saunas the clothing is not optional, it is in fact forbidden. So you can imagine my surprise, as a conservative Englander, when I first visited a sauna. I must say though that I found it a fantastic experience and would not consider going to a “clothed” sauna again.

Sometimes being forbidden wearing clothes has its merits… :)

I’m convinced that Cathy would have just as much trouble if she moved to 1960s China and wore the standard-issue Mao suit identical to everyone else’s (and she might well lose an awful lot of weight there too). I can imagine that even in the most conservative province of Afghanistan, wearing the baggiest plain black burqa there is, she’d still find something in it to obsess about. Possibly, though, such an experience could cure her, and then she’d have to spend the rest of her career being funny in a new way like Ellen DeGeneres or Joan Rivers.
Well, actually ,even that might not solve anything. She’d probably exude anxiety over how low-effort her “old” life was to live, or something.

I’m not sure I’d call you “mature”, Cathy…

Better question – which part of the body is “in?”
Actually the women who wear burqas often wear very stylish clothing in the home and compete with the other women. They usually only need to don the burqa outside the home or in the presence of non-familial men.

True, lindz. But somehow I think Cathy still picks clothes with cute/sex appeal and not just to impress her girlfriends.
But it’s funny how there’s such a dearth of cartoons in which Irving is supposed to notice and appreciate her. So maybe I’m wrong, and she doesn’t really care what anyone thinks of her appearance except herself and her like-minded girlfriends. OK, Cathy, nevermind - forget the burqa.
